By stopping in Valdes Peninsula in the northern seacoast of Patagonia, you get to know an important nature reserve which is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It holds the largest colony of Magellanic penguins in spring (September to November). The coastline is inhabited by marine mammals such as sea lions and elephant seals, as well as orcas. Southern right whales can be found in the Gulf between September and December, as they go there to mate and breed.
